This is going to be a slow-moving entry, I just know it.
The Shiz uniform has three components. She wears a navy blazer with either black or a darker shade of navy trim, has a navy pleated jumper (that later becomes her simple frock, and will be discussed at length in that appropriate section), and a knitted navy dickey (that is also removed for the ball). On her head she wears a knitted beanie.
Blazer: Surprisingly symmetrical, considering the rest of the uniforms (including Glinda herself) are so wonky.
The collar is symmetrical (which is unusual even for everyday suits).
The suit closes with three metal, bronze buttons (one at the bustline, one slightly below, and one approximately at the navel). I think the buttons are between an inch to 1/2 wide (in the high-rez picture, their size is comparable to Julia Murney's index fingertip, so that's where my estimate is coming from).
The trim is some kind of ribbed tape. It runs all the way along the outer seams (neckline, center opening, etc), as well as outlining the pockets and the inner cuff. It's about the same as Glinda's outfit, only black instead of silver.There are princess seams down the front (refer to the picture above), but it's a very straight, unfitted jacket. The point of this is NOT to look sexy. It's to make Elphaba look as awkward and gainly as possible.
Dickey: I don't know all that much about this one, but here are some pictures. Most of the time it looks like a turtleneck (or at least a mock turtle neck) but sometimes it's almost more of a crewneck. Actually, in the one photo from just before the ball with Glinda, it looks like it might actually be a longsleeve... but I'm still a little confused because some of the Wizard & I proshots have pics angled straight down her sleeve and you see nothing. Julia, little help?
Her beanie looks like a standard knitted cap--maybe even made outof the same stuff as the dickey?
Under it all, she wears her faithful ginormous boots.

The cap looks to be crochet rather than knit. Something like this: http://crochetme.com/patterns/autumn-hat , but without the offset rounds and done in a really chunky yarn.
