It's good to see me, isn't it?

Well guys, if you haven't guessed, my life is pretty nuts right now! Fortunately for Wickeders, Andrea at www.GalindasWardrobe.com is pro at keeping things updated, so I'd recommend you check there. For other shows, you've got my photobucket archives and if you shoot me an email (corbyjane at gmail) I can help you personally as best I can

In recreation news,
Anna made this lovely version of the popular dress, and commented to say,
I made this dress! whoohooo! for pics, check out my blog: http://annaseclecticlifeinfashion.blogspot.com

I am working on a doll-sized version of the Bubble Gown that will fit American Girl dolls. This is a rough draft  version, but I am currently accepting orders for your own, made with better materials and fewer mistakes. The price is up for discussion depending but you're looking at between $50-70.

Maybe you can give me some feedback... would you rather pay a flat fee for the dress (say, $70), or pay the cost of materials (which we can choose together to give your dress a customised look) plus $40 for labour? This means the price could vary depending on what you want, but I would charge more for labour because I'm working with unfamiliar materials.

If you have suggestions for other doll dresses you'd like to see made, let me know. :)

Hey everybody!

Long time, no see, right? My stupid life with it's stupid business. *Sigh* Well, here are some pictures to make up for my absence?

Aren't these awesome? Thank you, Oh Person Who Knows Who You Are! =D

I have a few other things from way back that a few people have sent in. I'm currently in a show and involved in a few school things, so my life... continues to be busy. =) I'll do what I can, and thank you to everyone who has shared. Andrea at GalindasWardrobe has been doing a better job of keeping up with things; for Wicked stuff, at least, check her site out. =)

Poll Results: All time favourite Glinda costume?

Your question was "What's your all-time favourite G(a)linda costume?"

Results after the cut!

What's New, Pussycat? (WHOAH, WHOAH WHOAH)

Well, here's what's new... Dogs are winning in the poll by about 50%. I was basing my research off of myself (cat), Maggie (cat), and Koshka the Cat (you guess), but apparently I was mistaken.

In other news, I discovered the motherload... I don't know how I missed this, but check out Wicked In Pix on Tumblr. I don't even know what tumblr is, but there are like 80 million pix here. I just grabbed all the Glinda ones and some of the Fiyero and Elphaba ones (I'm SORRY! I'm just biased, okay?!)... Oh yeah, and a Fiyero costume directory is imminent.

Glinda inspired-by dress?

Julia cited this Dior dress as a very probable inspiration for the Bubble Dress.

Glinda Wigs

Thanks to a little research, which our angel in Germany Julia has confirmed, it looks like Glinda has three wigs.

Updates on Glinda costumes...

Julia (involved in the German production of Wicked) emailed me to give me LOTS of info about Glinda & Elphaba's costumes, as well as sending me a TON of behind the scenes pictures. All the pictures are being integrated into the normal galleries on photobucket, but you can see all of hers in one gallery here.

Glinda's Emerald City Dress

"I've never been to the Emerald City!"

Photobucket

In summary: yellow dress, worn by the newly-renamed Glinda on her trip to see the Wizard.
This dress has three forms (kind of... ugh... I hate trying to label the minute differences between them...).

In its original, OBC form, it consists of a solid light yellow halter-neck empire-waisted top over a handkerchief (thanks Cathy!) skirt. Also, the designs are interesting. They look kind of like lace? I have no idea...

The next stage in this dress seems to be an elaboration on the first: the "empire waist" becomes a girdle not unlike Eowyn's Shield-Maiden dress and it's heavily boned. The details on the skirt are slightly more withdrawn, but they're still there.

In stage two, or Emerald City 2.0, the boning on the girdle is reminiscent of the Popular dress. There are 12 (I think) boned panels, and it zips up the back. It's pointed at the waist and where it meets the upper part, and the "underbodice" (because I'm not feeling technologically termy right now), which is probably the same fabric as the skirt, is gathered at the bust.

There are little crystals right where the strap meets the neckline... so basically, Glinda's armpits sparkle. No, I'm not kidding, look:

Instead of the darker-yellow decorative pattern being all over the skirt like in the OBC version, the details are more towards the hem.

And finally! Tada! Behind door number three, it's the what-I-thought-was-the-European-version-of-the-Emerald-City-Dress-Except-That-All-The-Australian-Pix-Have-Emerald-City-Dress-2.0-So-Mebbe-It's-Just-The-German-And-UK-Version? (or as I fondly call it, the "Bodice" version)

The bodice is all one piece, with no delusions of empire waisting or girdling. It's also rounded, with a sweetheart neckline. Designs similar to those on the skirt are all over the bodice.

It still has the zigzaggy thing the Popular dress has:

The skirt is a lot of sheer fabrics (with the yellow design) over one or two yellow opaque fabrics.

Bling: sparkly necklace and sparkly earrings, but nothing particularly interesting.
